Hi Guys,
I am having the worst time with Vegas Pro 16 (build 361) NOT rendering and causing total systemic crashes on my Win 10 Pro 64 bit PC. We couldn't be talking a more basic file here.
I'm using a Sony HDD Camcorder to shoot 1 hour (in 5 segments: Warm-up & 4 10 minute quarters) Little League Basketball Games. I bring the Camcorder back to my studio and import the .mfx files directly into the archive folder on my ADK Custom Built for Media PC. The final destination is simple DVD format. The videos are only for game reviews for the team. So there's NOTHING FANCY on this. I load the files into Vegas Pro. I mark the clips up 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, etc. through the end of the game. That's it for Text. The clips have a slight fade in and fade out. NO FX, NO PLUGS, NOTHING! All of this goes through smoothly. Then I try to render each Quarter separately and the nightmare starts.
It'll go 13% and crash. Next time 54% and crash. Next time 78% and crash and so on. These crashes are total! Render Function freezes. Then Vegas Crashes. Then the PC crashes. Then I have to force a shutdown, Re-boot, go through the Bios to get it to bring up the desk top, then do a Re-start to make sure that the PC is back to normal function and then try again. Last Saturday, It took me the usual 60 - 90 minutes to set the project up for rendering and I was trying to get the 4 quarters rendered from 5pm till 1:15am!!!! Today, it's looking slightly better. I've got half of the game rendered. But it's taken 5 tries to get the 2nd Quarter in the "done column!"
I use this PC 12 hours a day doing music production on Nuendo for all kinds of media and never have a problem like this. But every Saturday, I have to go through this insanity with Vegas Pro. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make this program just render the clips without hiccups the first time?? How to make Vegas Pro act reliably enough to use for a business?
