Usually the desired background must first be removed from the image in photo editing software to make it transparent using, Photoshop, Paint dot net or other.

If your PNG is not already transparent, Vegas cannot make it that way easily. Here's an example:

Change your media properties, and select source alpha compositing. It is not rocket science.

Upload your transparent png to Drive or Dropbox and post the link here. I will show you how it works!

And this doesn't just happen with this image, it happens whit most

When an image is png it can have a black or white background, but only when it has a black background does it work

and I had already done what you said, but it didn't work

What file are you putting in the google drive?

What I see is the instruction.

Have you tried the other one?

Just what I thought. Your downloaded file is not transparent, meaning it does not have an Alpha layer. When you get one that has an Alpha layer, it will say 32 bits in MediaInfo. There are no exceptions to this. Post back when you have tried a transparent file in Vegas, then someone may be able to help you. Most PNG files are not transparent. Thanks.

RGB=8x3=24 bits

RGBA=8x4=32 bits

It is always this way.

Correct... PNG not means automatically transparent right... still depends on the content and the media properties itself.

There, I have turned your non-transparent image into a transparent PNG image in Photoshop. Try it in Vegas, set your properties correctly, and it will work; it works perfectly here.
