Problems importing files from Camera Akaso v50 Elite to Vegas Pro 17

Nanozombi wrote on 4/5/2020, 6:17 AM

Hi friends,

I wrote some time ago because I could not import some recorded files into Vegas Pro and I still couldn't find out why this happens.

I recorded with the following resolutions:

4k 60fps - the camera does not allow to select a codec. Link to the file here. Info (MediaInfo and HandBrake) here

The file does not open in: Vegas Pro 17 build 387 (it only opens the audio track), Magix Video Pro X (shows message MXMPEG2 Error 0110: no media decoder found), Movie Studio 13.0, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020 (it only opens the audio track).

The file opens in Filmora 9.2.0.35

It is strange that MediaInfo shows this:

Video
ID                                       : 1
Format                                   : JPEG
Codec ID                                 : jpeg

Although Filmora opens it without issues.

2.7k 60 fps H265 Link here. Info (MediaInfo and HandBrake) here

The file does not open in: Movie Studio 13.0

The file opens in Vegas Pro 17 build 387 (only with Enable Hardware Decoding for supported formats: On - NVidia NVDEC), Magix Video Pro X, Filmora 9.2.0.35, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020

2.7k 60 fps H264 Link here. Info (MediaInfo and HandBrake) here

The file opens everywhere: in Vegas Pro 17 build 387, Magix Video Pro X, Filmora 9.2.0.35, Movie Studio 13.0, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020

My Vegas Pro preferences:

Status of GPU acceleration of video processing: Optimal - Ge Force GTX 1050 Ti, or Off -it does not change anything

Enable Hardware Decoding for supported formats: On - NVidia NVDEC

Graphics Card Driver Version: Nvidia 445.75

Working on W10 Home 64

Any help will be much appreciated, I am getting crazy with this :P

Thanks in advance!

VLC Player shows that the codec for the 4k 60fps video is Motion JPEG Video (MJPG) and it plays the file correctly if it can be of any help...

Your links cannot be opened while a key is needed, so we cannot look to them.
You have to use the latest build of Vpro 17 build 421, you now don't use.

Thanks for your answers,

here you have the details for the file that won't open (4K 60fps), I believe it is because it is using Motion JPEG codec which seems to be deprecated (I already enabled the QuickTime plugin in the deprecated features tab)

@Nanozombi

1. You are using the wrong build

2. You are using the wrong Nvidia driver, it is the latest Game driver and you need the latest Studio driver for your Nvidia GPU

3. Your first showed videofile has a codec that is not supported in Vegas, the other 2 showed files have supported codecs, look

Have you enabled QuickTime codec in Deprecated Features. It does support the older MOV/MJPEG format -- don't know about yours.

You may need to transcode everything in Handbrake -- these are not mainstream formats.

Nanozombi wrote on 4/5/2020, 8:07 AM

Dear j-v

Looks like my problem is only with the 3rd point, the codec used is not supported as far as I see, because the results are the same as it happens to you, the file with the MJPEG format does not open. The other 2 files open correctly.

Dear Musicvid,

Yes, QuickTime codec is enabled, but it does not work. Transcoding is an option, but very time-consuming. Usually I record children basketball games on Saturday morning, and in the afternoon all the other mf parents are already asking for the edited video 😂

If I have to wait until Handbrake transcodes them before starting editing, then I would not finish in time...

Thanks a lot for your help!
