The render size single figure usually represents the number of pixel lines top to bottom. It's not something peculiar to Vegas it's standard throughout the video industry.

yeah, it's the vertical resolution. ...kinda like we call HD "1080" ...when it's 1920x1080. Is the 32 indicating the timeline's color bit depth capabilities? I'm not sure on that one.

3840 = DAR Width

2160 = DAR Height

24 signifies 3x8 bit channels = RGB

32 signifies 4x8 bits == RGBA
