Rendered Video file - Audio Out of Sync

Eric-Clemenzi wrote on 4/22/2020, 12:36 AM

Hi! I am working rather lengthy music video (about 30 minutes) in Movie Studio 16, and by about the middle of the rendered video, all of the audio and video are out of sync, and it gets worse the further in I go. I am using Windows 10. Any suggestions for correcting this problem? When I check the file before rendering, everything is perfectly in sync. Thank you for your help!

It doesn't sound like you are, but mixing with separate audio recording will always drift unless synced SMPTE + Genlock.

Also make sure the sample rate of the project matches your audio source.

Thank you for the responses! Over the past couple of days, I have done some experimenting, and I have noticed a few things:

- When I select "Make Movie" from the main screen and render a .mov from there, the audio comes out perfect. When I select .mp4 from the same "Make Movie" menu, that is when the audio drifts.

- When I go the file and select the "render" function (which takes 10 times as long as the "Make Movie" function) and render the file as a .mp4, the files plays perfectly as well.

My main takeaway right now is to avoid rendering mp4's in the "Make Movie" menu and go with .mov! Thank you again!!

So you don't want to provide your source properties?

If I get a chance, I will go back and get the source properties. I am a teacher working on a huge student compilation video, so I have been trying to make a deadline for this weekend. I am just glad rendering to .mov fixed the problem! Thank you again for your assistance!
