@rraud -- best way to modulate/shift pitch downward

@rraud

I want to take a pure 174 hZ sine wave recording, already with shifting phase, vibrato, and gain fx, and create a subfundamental recording at a frequency factor of 0.666__, or 116 hZ, with as little distortion, Q-noise, and waveform disintegrity as possible. How would you go about this? I have Sound Forge, but I wonder if there's something more transparent and clean I can use to accomplish this. Your thoughts?

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve MV. But SF Pro has options to create new sine waves (simple or otherwise) . For adding a sine wave to another I would temporarily insert the new sine wave in a new or existing file (Insert> Synthesis) then copy it and use 'Mix' (Edit> Paste Special) to add it the existing sine wave .

[EDIT]

Actually, I was asking too much. I'm going to try creating my own master tracks, a creative challenge, so I can isolate the fundamental, or adding a static, lower tone as you suggest. At least now I'm thinking right.

Thanks for letting me bounce it off you.
