Saving and opening existing project

Hello all.

I´m new here - just bought MovieStudio 16 Platinum build 142, and it looks great,

but one thing I haven´t figured out yet:

When editing and several minutes in on the timeline, saving and then opening the project again at a later time,

the cursor is on start of the project, and not where I left it on the timeline.

Is it possible to change this behavior?

I´m on Windows 10

regards from Denmark

Unfortunately this isn't possible. You could drop a marker (M-key) instead to quickly get back.

I have to add a "Start Here" marker to my ongoing projects because sometimes I put them down for weeks.

Thank you both. I´ll take that "ad notam" :-)

This feature has been, as of late, requested quite frequently. Honestly, it is one of those things which seems like a no brainer for getting added to the application, but it just has not bubbled up high enough on the priority list. I will look into adding to the urgency of putting this in. Not saying it will happen anytime soon, but it is on our radar.

GLadefoged, are you new to VMS? if you always place your cursor where you want to to continue later before off from VMS, than placing a marker is good solution.

And if you just quit the work because of other unrelated reason, than reopening the project doesn't need a recall for specific point.

and surly no need as a new feature but as new annoyance. .

Yes, I´m new to VMS. I have been using Serif MoviePlus X5/X6 for several years, which saves the whole timeline. When opening the project, I´m placed at the exact spot I left. Would be nice if VMS in future "feature update" could do the same :-)

Thanks all

Now that it's on their radar, I would look to upcoming versions.

Doing this in an update to the current release is very unlikely. If this is done, it would have to be with an upgrade to the next version since this would require a change in the project file. We try to avoid changing the project file in the middle of a release because it causes compatibility issues.
