Scenalyzer Live 4.0 (Compression)

Hi Guys.

Would any of you that have used ScenalyzerLive 4.0 in the past happen to know if the captured file size can be increased for better quality? Or, is this controlled by your capture card or device / card?

I generally get file sizes around 50-60gb. I am sending the camcorder signal to an ADVC-300, then to my pc. I use this capture card:

It appears to use a Chipset of TI XIO2213. This has been installed under Windows 10 Pro with all the latest updates.

There IS a setting within the software for compression on STILL photos. I have found no such setting for the DV output file. Could it be that the DV spec is being followed by the software, the converter box, or both?

Thanks to all, in advance, for your valuable time. I look forward to all helpful feedback.

The capture codec is DV-AVI 25Mbps. That is the limiting factor.

You will probably have good luck upscaling them to 720p with Vegas' Smart Upscale. Follow the Help instructions exactly.

@Musicvid, Thank you for confirming my suspicions about it being a limitation of the codec.

A follow up question if I may. Would up use Vegas Smart Upscale before or after Neat Video is applied to said clips?

Thank you for your time.

It's anybody's guess, try it both ways and get back to us. I just use a light Unsharp Mask on the original before upscaling and it gives a nice look.
