Somebody said vegas pro supports multitrack audio capture, is it true?

I'm a supper newbie and I want to make a screen video with multiple audio tracks so that I can edit or remove either more easily afterwards. I see somebody said VP supports multitrack audio recording, and I didn't find any official tutorial on this, so anyone could tell me about this? If it's possible, maybe I will consider to pay for a premium VP for video production. I'm now having an easy screen recorder called RecMaster, unfortunately, it only features recording one-audio-track.

Vegas Pro can record multiple audio tracks, but you need an appropriate multi-channel sound interface. Right-click the 'Arm for Record' (record ready) icon on the audio track header and select the desired source in "Record Inputs".. repeat for the next track.. and so on. For overdubbing and such, you want to use ASIO device drivers. I am not familiar with the 'Movie Studio' version

I have a related question. I use Vegas Pro 16 on Windows 10 machine. I am editing lengthy video clips and recording three sound tracks using 3 external recorders. After I synced the audio to the video can I then edit the clip (video along with audio) in the trimmer? Or do I have to do all my editing on the timeline?

Even the Vegas Capture option of VPro 18 Edit can do this, look

I don't think so, best to just throw it on the timeline and cut there. Group the tracks so they cut/move together.

What @rraud means is a sound interface with 6 or 8 discrete inputs. A consumer 5.1 or 7.1 sound card will not work, because Vegas will not decode Surround signals in real time.

The trimmer is for trimming clips before adding them to the timeline. The timeline is for editing (adding multiple media and combining them in various ways). The trimmer will only let you look at one piece of media at a time.
