Sound Visualization.

Hello

Novice here using VP 14.

I am making a video with audio only. For the video part I want to insert the kind of visualizations that appear in Windows Media Player when we play an audio file; that show the intensity of the sound and disappear when there is an audio break.

Is there a way I can insert that kind of visualizations in my video?

Alternatively is there a way I can play my file in Windows Media Player, record the screen, and then use VP to encode the recorded screen with the audio?

Thank you.

Milkdrop plugin with Winamp, using OBS screen recorder.

This can be done in HitFilm Express (which is free) but using a $24.99 Express add on called Motion: Audio Visual Pack.

https://fxhome.com/reference-manuals/hitfilm-express

See 7:12:3 for info about the audio spectrum FX and 7:12:4 for info about audio waveform FX.

EDIT: A proviso though - it looks like that the audio track needs to part of a video/audio event for these FX to work. If its just and audio track only, it would first need to be rendered with a video image, even if its just a black image from Vegas Pro's media generator.
