Stuttering playback on Vegas 365, actually stopping on frames.

Ive just upgraded to Vegas 365 and have a problem viewing any footage because of the stuttering. So far I have tried changing the dynamic RAM preview, also turning GPU acceleration on and off, also changing the preview quality but nothing stops the stuttering. The footage is uncorrected with no filters from a Sony A73, MP4 at 50 frames per second (Ive also tried some 25fps footage). The preview window shows the frame count stall and then several dots count up after the frame, eventually it plays again for a few seconds. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

If you would prefer to get some work out the door more than spending the weekend working on decoding issues, you could use the Shutter Encoder to re-encode your source to a more edit-friendly format.

Yes, I didn’t Try editing with a proxy file, these are native files straight out of camera.

There aren't settings you can change in Vegas to improve performance, so I'd return it to defaults. If you set the timeline to 25p and use the 50p just for slow motion you might get close enough to full playback speed to edit at best/auto or preview/auto without proxies?

It isn't clear what GPU you are using or what the media is (if it's the A7III it's 1080p 50fps X-AVCS... or did you mean a7sIII?)

If it's the sIII, I'd make proxies for all these files (right-click and "create video proxy") and then change preview to preview/full.

If it's the a7III 1080p50 should work in Vegas without proxy files. Make sure your CPU's Intel Iris Xe Graphics are enabled with recent drivers installed and it should show up in Vegas preferences/ file io to assist with decoding.
