Terrible performance Vegas Pro 14.0 compared Vegas Pro 9

Hi,

I just wondering why, Vegas Pro 14.0 (64-bit) performance & interface was more heavy that Vegas Pro 9 (32-bit) when editing or play video on editor?

My basic hardware was:

Windows 10 (64-bit)

Intel Core i7 930 2.8Ghz

8Gt Ram

Nvidia GTX 960

I use multi monitor for vegas working. One for editing & other for preview screen.

For example project what i have:

General info my project:

I have temple project someting like this: 1920x1080; 25,000 fps

Pixelformat: 8 bit

Full resolution quality: Best

Video project with or more 500+ layers of video/image/sounds.

Preview quality view: Preview (Full) (When playing in editor)

In Vegas Pro 14.0 version:

Framerate = ~10 fps

In Vegas Pro 9.0 version:

Framerate = ~25 fps

So, looks like my old vegas version can run & play my project in preview screen about same framerate that should be but, not in newer vegas version.

Even though I know that the more content you add the project, the heavier the program is. But, however one reason for the program's performance in Vegas 14 is the user interface.

The program interface has many more features and things that were not in the old program. Functions I do not really need. In addition, many buttons or buttons seem to have 3D dimensionality as well as shading that reduce performance.

So, I'm also asking how can I increase the performance of the Vegas 14 program without reducing or undermining the content or quality of the project?

Please provide at least info requested in parts B3, C1 & C2 of this: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/

Smooth playback tips are here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-make-my-video-preview-play-smoothly-in-vegas-pro--104624/

B3:

This project im not used any camera or videoclip, i use raw images to make animation line, images what was animated or parses that i assemble animation in Vegas Editor. (Images like, JPG, PNG...) Otherwise when i use camera, i have normal regular camera, what i use video recording. (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 model)

C1:

Those Mediainfo app show only this info:

General
CompleteName                     : *:\*.veg (Location)
FileSize/String                  : 17.0 MiB

What info there should be or need to?

C2:

In Vegas 14/9 Pro, there is noting info like those screenshot, only Vegas version & lisence info.

If there is anyting else or better info to: how to find those info what you need then tell me, those info not help me sadly but, i can try those smoothly guide.

I don't have experience with that type of project. 500+ layers of video/image/sounds, if you mean 500+ tracks, is a lot! I did notice that some things work better in the old 32-bit versions of Vegas, for example they open large projects of DV or HDV video faster than the 64-bit versions.

So I don't have any suggestions beyond what is included in that "smooth playback" thread I linked to. It would be useful for you to narrow this issue down to either video or still images. You could do that by copying the project and deleting either the video tracks or still-image tracks, and see how the performance is.

-Indeed, that a lot of tracks of media files. I just dunno why, older was faster that new one but, it's just those interface. I just try those smootly guide or some guide of yours & i got preview play mode to play my project couple frame faster now (12fps) but, still those not give enought boost. Mostly this find because i "DISABLE RESAMPLE" but, other changes like "GPU acceleration" not much give boost or change so i keep orginal one. I also increase some "Dynamic RAM Preview" but, i din't see anyting change much.

I just use mostly multiple images in same line that make somekind of animation (PNG 1680x1050) what have alpha/transparent backround (about 3 minutes long + other 500+ media tracks) & ofcourse i can increase performance by, deleting track media/files what i don't use but, those take much time to add again if i delete those that keep them in project. (Ofcourse i think i gonna delete some but, still...)

Post your PROJECT properties and MediaInfo for each RENDERED file, both from V14 and from V9.

As you can plainly see from your post, the PROJECT file contains no useful information until it has been RENDERED.

Here is a basic glossary of video editing terms to help get you started:

I din't have or use rendering file in vegas 14 in this project, just play this like mediaplayer but, i just training this think & editing.

I already give my project properties info in early post or are there someting else info somewhere? Those properties in vegas File->Properties show only temple info what i use in project. (Info what im post there already)

& i don't think i have any "rendered" -media in my project, i use still images mostly what was images & not animated or video file & i build animate videos using still images what i use in preview screen to play.

& those "Mediainfo" -app, show only those info what i said also before, there is not anyting else usefull media info about my *.veg -file, when i try to view file info/properties in that app when i use & try to see "Text" -info. Only info what app show also is, internet html or similar source info.

Vegas->Help->About: show "General" -info but, there is only vegas app versio & lisence info & there is couple taps, about "Computer", "Component", "Multimedia Devices" but, noting about current file info.

I use mostly still images like (PNG 1680x1050) & *.mp3 -music. I don't use in project any "Video effect" so, play mode can play more smootly but, not now when currently use Vegas 14.

If im not wrong about "PROJECT properties" where & what im looking already or im miss someting?

MediaInfo should be run on your source files, not on your .veg files. But if they are mostly PNG and MP3 then there might not be any useful information there. Some video files can be a big burden on Vegas, so even must one track of a "difficult" video file could cause your stuttering playback. That is the kind of file that MediaInfo is more useful for. I really suggest you try and narrow the problem down as I suggested before, by creating projects with just one type of media.

-Oh, it's that so. If i must to check my all source files one-by-one in Mediainfo, those take lot of time & i still guess that then mostly those info was same every same type of files & format. Ofcourse if one source file is heavy those meaby take memory & slow preview play but, those still was mostly same source what i was used in Vegas 9 that where framerate work pretty normal with out slowdown much but, in Vegas 14 everyting was now totally diffrence & those framerate in preview screen play.

Mostly performance boost i can get for sure if i decrease quality of project but, that is the one what i don't whan to do if Vegas 9 can handle for this. I just change other interface & software, i din't see any diffrence with that & source & temple was the same, expect Vegas 14 software self.

I still pretty much like Vegas 14 to use because that have lot of new cool & usefull features, like 3D glass option that Vegas 9 not have so, i try to working this project & optimize this project as much as possible to make this possible but, that not gonna work if framerate was low & already at this stage.

In Windows task manager looks like when project is on Vegas 9 show & using about ~380Mb & Vegas 14 use 505Mb so, it's pretty much more then Vegas 14 use more memory that Vegas 9. Meaby just also because Vegas 14 software & interface.

So, im dunno if that was the best way to solution for this if i just continue working my old Vegas 9 & do Vegas 14 someting else & when i got my Vegas 9 version project ready & change that vegas 14, using only those source files what i want to play & render in Vegas 14 & remove everyting else media & content what i don't use to increase framerate.
