TMP file after rendering

Hi guys,

Maybe one of you has enough experience with vegas to have had this problem...

When i render a movie, at the end of the process the dialogue box has the open button greyed out.

On the disk at the location I rendered to I have a file like this: movie.MP4.TMP

When I rename it, it works, so it seems that Vegas skips the last step in the rendering?

Support wants me to install with extra admin rights or something, but it can't be that, it has worked before on the same computer..

Marcel

I've seen it a couple of times. I think most of them were with Vegas to Handbrake. I just renamed the file and moved on. I haven't seen it for a long time, though and I've had many simultaneous renders going.

The common cause is the file is still being written from .tmp to .mov.

Vegas doesn't know that, so I just wait, patiently.

Some nonstandard .mov render settings can cause the temp file not to be deleted, even though the .mov file has been written. In that case, just do what john_dennis suggests.

Maybe there's something to that. The mp4.tmp issue happened to me recently. I did as jd suggested, the .mp4 played ok. When I went to create an .iso image for blue ray using Vegas Pro 14, latest update, gave a warning about not having administrator rights, I continued on anyway and created the .iso ok. I was logged on as admin. at the time, Win 10, so not sure why the warning.

Maybe its tied into some Windows update issue, or the latest VP 14 update?
