Whenever i try to add a transition to my videos (Dissolve, page peel etc...) vegas freezes when i go to play over it. Also when i go to render the video it freezes and wont render past the part where i placed a transition!
Prerender your transitions. Your computer isn't able to render in real time.

I do not think that pre-render would help as based by original question the video cannot be rendered past the transition point as well.

That is more correct than my suggestion, which is one built-in solution for problems similar to yours.
