My memory is foggy, but one method of updscaling defaults to whatever project resolution you have set to upscale, the other lets you choose up to 4x upscaling... so technically in this mode you can upscale higher than 4x by setting the project settings higher. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly how to enable the other mode... as a media level effect, vs. event, perhaps?

You have to move it to media vs video events and have a project resolution higher than the video resolution.

wow, I didn't know that, there are media effects, I've been using vegas for a long time, but I'm just now getting into it, I didn't even know that, because I never needed to use it before hehe

@Rivas, Vegas is very flexible allowing you to place video effects in four different places:

1. Event (only affects that one event on the timeline)

2. Track (affects all events on that one track)

3. Media (affects that piece of media no matter where it is in the project)

4. Project (affects the entire project)

So you just have to figure out the best place to use each effect with some, like Upscale, needing to be used in a specific place.

And here's how you can access all four locations via a script:

And audio effects are almost as flexible, you can add them to:

1. Event (only affects that one event on the timeline)

2. Track - including Bus Tracks which can affect multiple timeline tracks (affects all events on that one track)

3. Project (affects the entire project)
