Unable to Import or Render to Quicktime

Paulo-Felberg wrote on 4/11/2022, 4:37 PM

Hello.
I had to reinstall windows from scratch and since then, after reinstalling Vegas Pro and enabling deprieated Quicktime Plugin, I am still not able to Import QuickTme files and/or render to Quicktime (not available on panel).
I uninstalled Vegas Pro and installed again. Still not working.
Yes, QuickTime files are indeed essential to my work.
Any help is appreciatted.
Thanks

Yes, QuickTime 7.xx is installed.

Post the details for one of your QT files that doesn't work. You probably won't have any Vegas file properties logged, but the MediaInfo will be a big help.

Are your files perhaps Avid DNxHD / DNxHR?

As I said before, The only thing different is a new Windows installation.
I allways used QuickTime files on Vegas.
It is not a file or codec issue. And as I open the render options, QuickTime is no longer available.
QuickTime Pro is installed and QuickTime plugin is set to enable.
I just don´t know what is wrong. It is like Vegas is not finding Quicktime installed.
The bad news is, if I can´t fix this, I will be obliged to give up on Vegas.
Thanks

@Paulo-Felberg My work involves a lot of legacy QT -based files, especially AVID DNxHD & HR... Whenever I reinstall Windows, Vegas, etc. I follow a guide I made so that I remember to reinstall the codecs I use. However, DON'T use those codec packs, they can mess with the better ones inside Vegas.

Well, I actually didn´t reinstall any codec pack. I just installed QuickTime and enabled it on Vegas. Still, it is not working this time.
It worked like magic before. Not anymore.
I will try to install some codecs. Who knows.
Thanks

Don't just install codecs, figure out what the media is. Please provide MediaInfo as requested.

I am a VJ.
I have tons of Resolume Arena QuickTime DXV files. They haven´t changed.
I don´t care I can´t load them into Vegas, since I can´t render any new video content to QuickTime as usual.
Quicktime IS NOT listed. If it gets listed as a rendering option, then I am pretty sure I will be able to load my DXV files as well.
Btw... I didn´t install any other codecs.
And, again, thank you

Paulo, "Resolume Arena QuickTime DXV" Codec is not installed with any version of Vegas or Windows 11. Lots of stuff on Google, Maybe should check there before unloading on your peers...

https://resolume.com/software/codec

Paulo-Felberg wrote on 4/11/2022, 8:23 PM

DXV is a QuickTime Codec, from Resolume. As I own Resolume, I do have the Codec installed.
I am not unloading on anyone. If you felt that way, my sincere apologies. I was just trying to tell my peers that I had proof that it was nothing related to my files, since Vegas was not allowing me to render to QuickTime anyway.
And I was right. The problem is solved!!!
Two things I did:
First: I set "OneDrive" to stop the auto backup from/to my document files. It could be interfering with Vegas after new installations.
Second: Used "Revo Uninstaller" to completely remove Vegas and QuickTime. Re-installed both from scratch one last time and now Vegas is back rendering to QuickTime. And guess what? Vegas is also back loading my files.
Again, thank you all very much.

Thank you, set. And I apologize to Paulo, who I misread as seeming defensive. Welcome to the forums.
