You may need to do a full uninstall of Vegas Pro. How to do this is covered in point 38 of https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-faqs-and-troubleshooting-guides--104787/

Please note, however, that it is unlikely that reinstalling the trial version will reset the trial period.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I have followed the full instructions to no avail. I am completely stumped because I cannot find and file that would be preventing a reinstallation. I removed my other MAGIX programs in the event a common file may be the problem. No success. I am at a loss

A third-party uninstaller like Revo Uninstall, should have been used, which can remove leftover registry entries and other pertinent data the default uninstall process leaves behind.

Hi rraud. Thank you for your input. The program I used to uninstall Vegas 19 Pro was IObit which I understand is one of the best programs for monitoring and uninstalling programs. I have also used several others such as Wise program uninstaller. The difficulty I face is that I wished to purchase the program but with this problem, it appears a lost cause unless I find a solution.

Have you tried just reinstalling it without uninstalling first?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Hi Fr0sty

I initially installed the trial program. The trial expired so I thought I would uninstall - then buy the program. No matter what I have tried I encounter the message "Vegas 19 is already installed"when I attempt to re-install. I have now used three uninstall programs without success. The inability to get support direct from VEGAS is very frustrating as I cannot imagine I am the only person who has encountered this problem.

I would also try fr0sty's tip.

For future reference: You don't need to uninstall the trial version, when you buy it you just get a new key to enter. - And the show starts.

I dived into the registry for many hours locating anything that resembled a VEGAS product and removed them. I then downloaded a trial version and the installation commenced and reached about 99% and a message appeared that the installation could not proceed as a file was missing. I opened the desktop and the Icon was present. I clicked run as administrator and the program loaded without difficulty ". It has provided 24 days of the trial during which I will ensure that there are no bugs before I proceed with any purchase. Thank you for your suggestions.

You could have purchased the license and left the "trial version" on your PC. You would just need to input your serial key without downloading the installer again.

@Pete is correct. You can't uninstall and reinstall a trial by normal means. You can and could have registered your expired trial with a legit serial number.

I think the best thing to do now is to restore a system image from before the time you installed the trial.
