upgrade from VP 16 to VP 17 on laptop?

I've bought VP 17 that I'm using on a desktop, and have my 2nd version on a laptop. I use the laptop for doing rough edits (or very small projects) in the field, then transfer project to my desktop when I'm home. I was wondering if I should keep VP 16 on the laptop or upgrade to VP 17. Will 17 use more resources. Specs for laptop are:

For maximum project compatibility, run the same version (17) on both computers.

It is not necessary to remove 16.
