Using VEGAS 10 Video Capture Utility

I have two DV (Digital Video) devices with which I am trying to do tape transfers to PC using Capture 6.0e build 1000 in Vegas 10. One machine is a Sony DSR-25 for Mini DV tapes and the other is a GV-D800 Video Walkman for Video 8 tapes.  My Windows 10 PC running the Vegas 10 Capture utility works perfectly with the DSR-25, but will not recognize the GV-D800 using the same cable for connection to the PC. However, also using the same cable, I can play the D800 through the DSR-25 to record and view on the DSR-25 and the DV connection works fine.

I have researched new and old drivers, and done a reinstall of Vegas but nothing seems to help Capture recognize the GV-D800.

Does anyone have any insight into this problem?

Thank you for the suggestion, but WinDV doesn;'t recognize the GV-D800

Try turning off Device Control in the Vegas capture settings.

You might also try Scenalyzer Live.

Turning off Device Control has no effect. The strange thing is that the DSR-25 has no problem connecting through the same port and with the same cable and Vegas Capture can control it. The GV-D800 will only play into the DSR-25 with a direct connection, but the PC that detects the DSR-25 will not detect the GV-D800...
