Could you give us some clues about what was happening at the time of the crime?

1) What type of media is on the timeline?

2) Which render template are you using?

Blow the dust bunnies out of your cpu and gpu fans, and try again.

Another thing is to turn gpu render off.

We need lots more information to troubleshoot beyond this basic advice.
