Vegas 17 changes the color of the whole video while rendering

Cantersoft wrote on 4/14/2020, 7:58 PM

Render changes the color of random things in my video to ugly colors. Render settings are Magix AVC/AAC MP4 1080p, 29.97 FPS.

On the left is the way the frame should look, on the right is how Vegas 17 renders it.

Software: Vegas Pro 17.0

Processor: Intel Core i7 8th Gen

Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620

Operating System: Windows 10

If you bring the video back into Vegas and place it on the timeline, how does it look?

@monoparadox To my surprise, re-importing it makes it look normal again! So is the problem my media player? Ultimately I just want the video on YouTube, so I just hope YouTube's encoder won't get the colors wrong.

It looks wrong in Windows Media Player and VLC

Your player is using a different colorspace.

Simply apply The Computer->Studio Levels filter at the output.. Should be all you need.

@Musicvid

Sorry lol, I deleted my comment because I thought you were talking about one of the filters in the render dialog. It took me a few minutes to realize you were talking about an effect.

I had never used the levels effect beforehand.

Okay, problem resolved! Thanks so much.
