Vegas Pro 14 wont open 1920x1088 videos

calebis wrote on 2/1/2021, 9:40 AM

I have recorded this video in obs

the error code vegas gives me is:"Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. The reason for the error could not be determined."

The reason I think this is happening is that I recently upgraded my graphics card from a Nvidia to an AMD so the processing is different before I was using the NVENC H.264 now I am using H265/HEVC Encoder(AMD Advanced video framework)

This is an MP4 file with the resolution 1920x1088. Other mp4 files work in vegas and I checked the properties of the ones that work and the ones that don't, the ones that work are the 1920x1080 files and the ones that dont are the 1920x1088

please help this to work in Vegas,

thanks

If you changed the GPU, perhaps Vegas is having trouble working right as old settings persist? One idea to try is to do a program reset- hold down control and shift as you double-click on the Vegas exe or shortcut. Say yes to clear cache.

I don't have VP 14 to test on but think that was the procedure then.

Beyond that did it ever work with the 1088 media? Did you follow the setting guide for OBS?

1. I have reset the cache like you said, the same error code comes up and it doesn't work.

2. I've never had to use 1088 media at least I don't think.

3. I didn't follow the settings guide because I'm going for high quality videos, I will check it out though

Fyi: If this information helps I have factory reset my computer and uninstalled all of the nvidia drivers too

Okay, if you reset everything that's a good start. For NVIDIA, did you install a studio driver if your card supports it? Their general game ones have been buggy.

I think the settings guide is for high-quality videos but there are others like the member MusicVid who are much more experienced than I am with it. Some of the settings can make the files unplayable in Vegas.

For 1088 media could you upload a few second sample anywhere? I or others could test. My oldest version of Vegas is 15, though.

Did you scroll down the thread you were given?

Hardware capture encoding is not considered "high quality" by multiple users here. Did you really mean "fast?"

And by high quality I mean high fps

I don't quite follow that logic, but suit yourself to be sure. But does your Vegas version even support 240 fps?

With so much missing information, I don't know if I can assist you further. Best of luck.
