VEGAS Pro 17 stops working after minimizing or opening another window

I just updated my Vegas to the newest update, and now everytime I minimize Vegas or open a new window, Vegas won't work for about 30 seconds to a minute once I open it up again. This never happened to me before the update. It's really slowing up my workflow, because I work alongside other programs as well, and I often look for things to add to my project online.

I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else since the update, and if so, what possible solution is there?

It has zero to do with the update. Every version of Vegas has this memory-saving feature, including your older version. It is easily turned off.

I find it strange that I've been using VEGAS for many years, without unticking that option, and this was the first time it was an issue for me (right after updating). Regardless, the solution worked for me, thank you so much, you are a lifesaver!

I recall it being the installation default, but maybe not in all versions.
