Vegas pro 18 edit ; MOV setting Alpha what am I doing wrong ?

Wiew wrote on 11/29/2020, 2:03 PM

Probably a newbie question so sorry in advance ;-)

I have those BusyBoxx quicktime alpha movie parts that I want to use

I go to properties and set the alpha (found that info on you tube)

the black goes away on the clip in the timeline ,

but in the preview window it is still showing the black , it does not become tranparant

What am I doing wrong ?

When there is nothing it shows black in preview.
What happens if you choose something else as a backgrond

That’s truly bonkers! Try a different ALPHA setting?

Don't know about the use of Alpha, but I always use for such things the Croma Keyer FX that does it this way

Please post the MediaInfo for the MOV with Alpha files that you are using.

Vegas recognizes only a couple of MOV/Alpha format combinations, and we would need to determine first if that is one of them, or the best way to leverage the alpha channel if it is supported.

@Wiew
II don't have * .mov files, but * .avi (from Prodad Heroglyph), but I use the Alpha-Channel setting "pre-multiplied".
In addition, the preview must be set to "Best-Full" for me (you have Preview-half), otherwise it won't work.

if anyone will give it a shot to find out what I am doing wrong , here is the file

Wiew wrote on 11/29/2020, 3:16 PM

Ok the best preview view helped , that works , thank you all

@Wiew

You have to upload the file to Dropbox or something, and put the link in here.
My suggestion didn't work?

@Musicvid - The trouble I’ve got with this is that the UPPER track, is showing the ALPHA correctly. Now, why that which is obviously Transparent ISN’T Revealing what’s below it! Dang! 😖🙀
