Vegas PRO 8 version incompatible with windows 10

I have a Sony HDR SR10E VCR that I bought in 2008 that came with Vegas Pro 8 software.
I just changed my computer and the Vegas Pro 8 software is not compatible with the windows 10 on this new computer.
Is there a way to get a free version of Vegas that works with Windows 10?

You cannot get at free version of Vegas. But you can upgrade from Sony Vegas 8 to the latest Vegas 19 for $119.

A long shot: Have you tried installing in compatability mode? Pro8 is a bit long in the tooth.

Vegas Pro 8 software is not compatible with the windows 10

Explain what you mean by "not compatible".. installation, activation, operation, error messages?
I do not know about VP-8 but VP-9 runs on my Win 10 PC w/o issue. In any case upgrading to the current version is recommended and is worth the low upgrade price in terms of speed/performance, plug-ins, codecs and the other improvements since VP-8
