Vegas Pro and .png file transparency

I am a rookie with video editing. I downloaded a thing of Digital Juice. I replaced the correct section with a .png file. The image is too transparent. How do I correct this? I am trying to make an intro for my Twitch Virtual Tabletop D&D game. I just need the images a bit brighter and less transparent so the background video doesn't shine through as much. I have attached a screen shot of one of the sections. Can anyone help out a novice? It is a still picture and not a video.

Just reduce the track level on the background track. Here is how it looks in an older version.

Be sure the "Compositing Mode" for your graphic track is set to: "Source Alpha". Then in the "Project Media" area, right-click on your graphic and choose: "Properties...", then for "Alpha channel:" choose: "Straight (unmatted)".

That's the beginner's manual on compositing in Vegas Pro.

Note to self (everyone else please look away -- the note that follows is a reminder for mine eyes only): Figure out a clever, kick-booty signature that suggests I'm completely aware of how to properly and exhaustively party on and that I, in fact, engage in said act on a frequent and spontaneous basis. All joking aside, listing my computer's properties is a futile endeavor. I edit multimedia in a local television station newsroom that has Vegas Pro installed on several machines with widely varied specs. We began editing non-linearly with Pinnacle Studio Version 8. That didn't last long before we upgraded to Vegas Video Version 4, then to Vegas Pro 10.

Premultiplied is a little easier on the edges; totally a matter of personal taste.
