Vegas20 not playing 32bit float audio or fragmented MP4 and MOV

Vegas won't load fragmented mp4 and mov, it will load 32bit float audio, but it's just clicks. Can others confirm this to be true.

These files are from the new OBS beta, fragmented MP4 is a major upgrade because it means if computer or OBS crash you don't get corrupted files, it means recording in MKV and remuxing to MP4, creating variable frame rate files is a thing of the past. 32bit float audio means if you have your levels too high and your audio clips and is distorted you can recover it without loss.

These files work fine in the other pro editors as well as the beginner's editor Capcut, shown below

Btw, OBS now streams HEVC and AV1 to youtube

Disable legacy decoders?

@Adis-a I will have to check that, so both the sample files work for you, video from fragmented mp4 and audio from 32bit float ?

Audio playing here along with video. The Fragmented clip also plays back the audio. How long is this clip?

Nope. With leg. dec. enabled I can't import "fragmented", and "float" only shows video (audio looks like blips or something). With leg. dec. disabled I can import both files, but "fragmented" only shows one or two frames (audio plays fine though) and "float" is out of whack audio-wise (plays the middle first, then the beginning, the end...jumps back and forth). 😂

@Reyfox Fragmented clip is about 58 seconds, but I just remembered the MKV to MP4 muxing causes the variable frame rate issue, however MP4 to MP4 should be fine, and stay CBR, and allow Vegas to load. This is the short term solution, turn auto mux back on in OBS, and longer term have Vegas able to read fragmented mp4/mov

@Adis-a I can't work out what went wrong with playing the 32bit float audio, the way you described it's behavior with legacy is exactly how I saw the waveform and heard it, but when I load Vegas now it's there and plays but as you say the audio keeps moving about and sometimes I hear this clicking again, and then music comes back when scrubbing through it

The MOV file opens in Sound Forge.

This is VP19 playback of 32 bit float audio.mov, GPU decoding on, clicks, music distorting, areas of no audio, and playing music from other parts of the track. Similar to how it was playing in VP20. I did not experience the audio distortion or blank spaces, but possibly would if I played it enough, or maybe reloaded the project enough. Also note how the same clip is side by side, but the audio waveforms are different.

I am using latest studio Nvidia drivers

I don't have VP19 installed on my computer. VP20 plays back your clips without any problems no matter how many times I play it back by using the spacebar at different locations on the clip.

@Reyfox Interesting Thanks. Instead of the upgraded VP19 - VP20 installation I currently have I will reset Vegas so no attributes from VP19 should factor.
