vegas2handbrake not working, handbrake doesn't work, video stays 0%

SimonGhoul wrote on 11/30/2017, 8:54 PM

(I can open handbrake, is frameserver that's not opening it)

I don't know what's happening, did I do something wrong?

I did everything these pages said:
(FAQ) How can I improve the quality of my AVC (H.264) renders? (from this forum)
Vegas Pro 14 and Vegas2HandBrake (from this forum)
Handbrake 1.0.1 released - changes I made to Frameserving bat file (Summary here) (also from this forum)
Getting debugmode Frame Server
Vegas2HandBrake
Avisynth rev. 2 official link (not the one given by the post, since I wanted to make sure everything was updated, was that a mistake?)
fs2hb_en_03.zip (beware, this will be downloaded immediately the moment you enter on the site

Here's also some screenshots, just in case I missed something (I forgot to say in the images, that I also tried on a small video but it still didn't work)
Click here to see the photos

I had a problem understanding requirements and some other stuff, so here's what I have

Windows 10, 64 bit operating system, x64-based processor
I am also using vegas pro 15

(I did not skip any of the steps, I did all of them and maybe I did one I shouldn't had done, I dunno)

» is frameserver that's not opening it«

According to your screenshots FrameServer has opened and is working fine. Don't worry about the 0 % render process, that's the way frameserving works and it won't ever get over 0 % while frameserving.

Does HandBrake automatically open after you waited a while?

BTW – you didn't configure the FrameServer correctly. You should select "RGB32", not "RGB24".

Nope, that what worries me

Is this why it doesn't open?

The hell.... The settings didn't save for some reason, I'll change it to RGB32

Actually I don't know why HandBrake does not start. If you use script versions which are modified to work in VP15 (which they are, else an error message would appear) and if you use batch files which are modified for the use of the current version of HandBrake than at least it should work.

The two issues which in general could cause something else what you described (and according to what I see on your screenshots) are:

- Frameserve file not mounted
- HandBrake not found (wrong path, typos in the naming inside a script/batch file)

Wow, thanks Marco, I have had the RGB24 setting forever. Changed it RGB32 this morning.

Just to make it clear, I can open the frame server, is just that the frame server or whatever is in charge of opening handbrake, is not opening handbrake

Frameserver is on C:\frameserver (folder with contents)

"C:\frameserver\AVFS"
"C:\frameserver\batch"
"C:\frameserver\source"
"C:\frameserver\avfs.dll"
"C:\frameserver\vegas.avs"

Bat has been modified as I was told, it looks like this

timeout /t 1 /nobreak
start "" "C:\frameserver\batch\enter.exe"
timeout /t 2 /nobreak
:vegasavi
for /f %%i in ("C:\frameserver\source\vegas.avi") do if %%~zi gtr 160000 goto checkframeserver
timeout /t 2 /nobreak
goto vegasavi
:checkframeserver
for %%F in ("C:\frameserver\source\vegas.avi") do set filesize1=%%~zF
timeout /t 5 /nobreak
for %%F in ("C:\frameserver\source\vegas.avi") do set filesize2=%%~zF
if %filesize2% gtr %filesize1% goto checkframeserver
:avfs
pfm register C:\frameserver\avfs.dll
timeout /t 3 /nobreak
pfm mount C:\frameserver\vegas.avs
timeout /t 2 /nobreak
:handbrake
for /f %%i in ("C:\Volumes\vegas.avs\vegas.avi") do if %%~zi gtr 160000 goto hbstart
timeout /t 2 /nobreak
goto handbrake
:hbstart
start "" CALL "C:\Program Files\HandBrake\HandBrake" "C:\Volumes\vegas.avs\vegas.avi"
:waitforhandbrake
timeout /t 3 /nobreak
tasklist | findstr /i "HandBrake.exe"

goto waitforhandbrake
:stop
start "" "C:\frameserver\batch\stop_render.exe"

(Bold is what's changed, I may had forgot to bold part of it)
I noticed it says

"C:\Program Files\HandBrake\Handbrake"

I went and handbrake is located in C:\Program Files\HandBrake\ (there's not a folder other than "doc" inside) should I edit the bat and put the address "C:\Program Files\HandBrake\" instead? I bet this is what you meant, I'll go and do it now and see if it works if I change that address to a new one (If you ever go back to do work on vegas2handbrake, can I recommend an error message? it would be kewl)

I also don't have the folder "C:\Volumes\" is this normal? is this automatically created by the program when it starts?

SimonGhoul wrote on 12/1/2017, 3:36 PM

still not working

I also got this C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 15.0\Script Menu\frameserve_scripts

Try using -> instead (unzip before replace).

It doesn't let me and I don't have an antivirus
It says "Failed - Virus detected"

I already went to the registry file and also went through the windows defender settings and everything tells me it's off, real time protection is off

Marco. wrote on 12/1/2017, 4:12 PM

If it is the bat file itself which is rejected, simply open with an editor like Notepad, copy, paste into a blank page and save again.

But I guess it is another process started from within the bat file, just like one of the .exe files involved. You would need to sort that out and define a file based exception in the anti-virus system for that certain file blocked.

At least maybe this bat file would work now if the anti-virus system would not insist blocking

SimonGhoul wrote on 12/1/2017, 4:18 PM

It was Mcafee Webadvisor (I don't have the antivirus, just the webadvisor) now I just wonder why the potato does Mcafee have to keep being annoying when it's suppose to be disabled :) (It is)

I'll try that and I'll tell you if it works

SimonGhoul wrote on 12/1/2017, 4:32 PM

pfm is not a recognize external program or batch file

Didn't work and I just found out about that

Also, here

1.
2.

2 videos I made unlisted on the issue showing how everything is set up, if you find me to be going slow, or going into irrelevant stuff, go and speed the video up or just skip a little bit

I just watched your two YouTube videos and I'd say everything seems to be correctly configured but for any unknown reason Pismo File Mount does not seem to work.

Which version of Pismo File Mount do you use? (It should be written in the first line of the file "pfmap-readme.txt" in the subfolder "Pismo File Mount Audit Package" of the Windows programe folder.)

The version I use is build 180. Maybe there's a later build which would break the workflow (which already happened once before), but then I'd be out of luck …

… but I see -> here is an archive where build 180 is still available.

I don't have that, I thought that was like winrar, I am going to install it and see if it works

I also don't know if I messed up but, I just tried to set up MeGUI (might be for nothing, I don't think it will help), I set up ffmpeg latest version and used a command I found

What do you mean by "I don't have that"? Pismo File Mount?

Without Pismo File Mount installed Vegas2HandBrake cannot work.
