vegasaur DV avi proxies slower than mxf originals

Hi all

working in V17 on another multicam with 2 mxf from Sony FS7, one XAVCS from an A7S and one prores 422 track. as the preview is pretty much stuttering on any setting, I decided to try out the Vegasaur proxybuilder with the default avi DV pal widescreen 720x576 24mb/s setting. Thing is, those proxies stutter even more, preview down to 4-7 frames in draft / full mode, with project settings all adapted. This doesn't make any sense to me. Also, the originals are even more stuttery in V18.

Could anybody explain what's going on here?

Thanks!

ProxyAssist in HOS is pretty spiffy, and it has a free trial. Uploading a couple of samples to Drive or Dropbox would also help.

Use handbrake to transcode it to smoother vidoe. And rename this video to something like "xxxx.mp4.sfvp0" 😄

@Musicvid

In its current state, ProxyAssist should not be used for multicam projects. Since multicam projects use Takes for switching, there is a conflict since ProxyAssist also uses Takes. When Vegas creates a multicam track, it gets rid of the the original take, thus preventing the correct switching back and forth between Originals and Proxies. For multicam projects, KwikProxy is the recommended HOS tool.
