Vp 17 none of the export functions work

Hey, i have an issue where im trying to export a very long but simple project that i cut in vegas to premiere.

Now i tried the premiere pro export but it just instantly freezes vegas, then i tried final cut pro x export but that crashes vegas about 15 seconds later.. then finally i tried exporting to .xml and yep, you guessed it the thing crashes.

So does anyone know any workaround how to export a project from vegas pro 17 to any other NLE ? Because currently it seems there just is no way to export anything but a video file.

Export a compatible intermediate file, such as ProRes.

That's exporting media, not project.

I need to export a project to another NLE and currently that seems to be an impossible task with vp17

My project is very simple, 5 audio tracks and 2 video tracks but the video is cut into a million pieces that i need to continue editing in another program.

This is a peer forum. I have suggested one workaround, and replied to you responsibly in another thread, which you also challenged. I tested a project with 1h length, compositions and transitions in VP17.

guess what: both the export as premiere pro and final cut/DaVinci worked without crash.
So I can't confirm the basic inability of VP17 to export projects.
Re-importing into Davinci worked, but the timeline performance in Davinci was terrible.
If the project is already so simple and only contains cuts, there is little reason why it shouldn't be possible to do this directly in Premiere or Final Cut, since they should actually be able to allow a simple cut of video material in the meantime ;)
It doesn't make sense to develop the project with all its possibilities for errors during export in Vegas first.
My 2 cents

Didn't we already answer this question?

Export (from Vegas) a FCP7 xml file. Works fine for me with Resolve. If Ppro crashes, then that's Adobe's problem, not Vegas', and you will have to figure out why Ppro is misbehaving.

Im sorry but the answer "Buy a new pc" is not a good answer nor does it help in any way.

Same as with "just don't export"

If you ask help because you cant render video and i reply "Just render sound and upload to spotify instead of youtube" would you consider that helpful?

Manged to make it work, vegas was crashing on export first because for some reason you cant export xml without copying source media (Kinda annoying as copying 100gb and then deleting them is quite useless) and second because i had one small nested file in the timeline that caused the error.

Also yes its most certainly possible to do these raw cuts in premiere along with everything else, but i have moved everything else of my workflow out of vegas because it really doesn't have the features that i need but i hate cutting in premiere and love doing it in vegas so i would very much like to keep vegas as part of my workflow.

I use a FCP7 xml to send to Resolve, WITHOUT COPYING media. The xml passes the file path and Resolve finds the media - no problem.

FWIW, I also prefer cutting in Vegas, and it is more than just familiarity with the software. Vegas is more agile and it is easier to get a precise pacing of cuts due to the way it handles overlaps and transitions. It is quite different from other NLE's in this way.

Coudlnt have said it better myself! Exactly the reason why i use Vegas.

And thanks, ill try this method and see if i get it working!
