VP17 Native Ambisonics Output?

MotoRider42HC wrote on 6/8/2020, 8:08 PM

I've searched and searched, and can't find a clear answer...

If I use a Zoom H3-VR in ambisonics mode, which outputs two stereo audio files,

is VP17 able to render/output a video file with "4 channel" or "ambisonic" audio?

Thanks!

4 channel discrete, yes.

Ambisonic, no. But you're welcome to frame your question as a feature request.

Assuming the H3 outputs the ambisonic audio in the proper format (I don't own one...yet), you can just load the 4 tracks of audio to Vegas audio tracks and trim it to length to match your video. With the H2, I believe you had to use software provided by Zoom to encode it. With my Vuze camera I converted the 4 microphone audio to ambisonic audio using the ambisonic toolkit for windows.

Vegas doesn't have any tools specifically for ambisonic audio.

Rendering 4 audio tracks is a little tricky, but is covered here:

Here is my post on trying ambisonic audio using the Vuze camera:

You're welcome.

Just noticed a typo in my post above....I meant Ambisonic Toolkit for Reaper (not windows).
