What are your top 3 shortcuts or tips to quicker rough cut of a video

Currently I am very mouse driven until I learn the in's and outs of the shortcuts as I transition from Premiere Pro CC to VMS. This is my second evening on the platform.

I would like to know from you the veteran, what would you recommend for me to learn first as far as shortcuts; or simply what tips would you give to edit quickly in VMS?

Content I create is simple and isn't fancy at all. I basically upload rough cuts, there's very little color grading, titling etc. Most of it is for YouTube.

My thumb is always hovering on the "M" key while previewing, with pinkie ready to Enter. That, in combination with JKL, makes a quick approximation of cut points. Then, things just seem to grow from there.

"I" and "O" for trimming start and end of video and audio events (actually the original shortcuts are different but I made them "I" and "O" in Vegas Pro, can't tell what the english versions are which must be used in Movie Studio instead).

"S" to split events.

"Del" to delete events or splitted parts of events.

Also "C", "X" and "V" to copy/cut/paste events.

For trimming events directly on the timeline at cursor position "Alt+[" and "Alt+]" in combination with auto ripple set to "on". When auto ripple is "off", I press after trimming "F".

For even faster trimming I would advice a Jog Shuttle (Xpress will do) which works fine with VMS.https://www.contourdesign.com/product/shuttlexpress/

Thanks @3POINT . I ended up getting the non express version of the shuttle :) the full thing! was very impressed with it. Also got a keyboard with shortcuts on it. I think that will make things a lot easier, don't have to think about what shortcut is what.

Thanks for the tips much appreciate it.
