When I drag color correction into the timeline the grid doesn't appear

Hello,

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 13. The issue I am having is that when I drag color correction into the timeline the box with the grid doesn't open for me to make any color adjustments. This is true for all the video FX options. I have reset the settings twice and have also uninstalled the program twice. Please tell me how to fix this.

You don't "drag" a color correction effect onto a timeline event in Vegas Pro 13.

You can OPEN an fx panel at the Media, Track, Event, or Output level and apply the color correction, or any effect you choose, at that level. Look for the fx icon at the various levels.

For basic skills instruction, you may want to visit a tutorial resource page. One is here:

Also, you should delete your duplicate thread with the same subject. Welcome to the forums.

What I mean is the following:

I have seen on YouTube Videos where someone opens the FX options, drags the color correction into the video and this box opens up. That does not happen for me. I have uninstalled the program twice and also reset the settings and still no luck. Also when I try top open the crop box and fx in the timeline of the video nothing happens. Don't know if this is related or not. Here is a link to a video where this is shown: .

Is there another way to open this box so I can color correct.? Any help would be appreciate it.

Thanks in advance...

1. Open the fx button at the media, track, event, or output level.

2. Double click the fx you want to Add to the Effects Chain. Click OK.

Is that your question?

That is not my question. I know where to click to add the effects. My previous post explained my questioned with pictures and a video. Please refer to that.

I don't know where your previous post is. Why not put all relevant info in one place?

The simplest issue is if the Fx box is getting hidden behind the main program. Try turning off full screen preview and moving the Vegas window to make sure it's not stuck behind the program.

If not that it's possibly a GPU issue- I'd experienced some weirdness about windows not opening in the past. In Windows try graphics settings and set Vegas Pro to use the high performance setting (not sure what your GPU or CPU is as you haven't provided that info). If that doesn't work try the other GPU, if you have a processor integrated one as well.

If that doesn't help try updating drivers for the GPU(s). Back in VP 12 days it only worked properly with certain drivers which made my life quite miserable (as the one that supported Vegas didn't support other software I used).

I will bet that it opens but is "hidden". The first place I would look is behind the "start bar" at the bottom of the screen. You might also go to a higher resolution and then see if it shows up somewhere unexpected.
