New to SF - Using Windows 10 - 1. When I move my sound track from Vagus to SF, the audio plays very slooooly in SF? 2. How would I get the audio track back from SF to my Vagus timeline? Thanks
Exactly how are you moving the 'sound track' from VP to SF and back again? In this context, what is your definition of 'sound track'> (event; track; 'mix to new track' event; other) ???
I cannot recall ever having an issue integrating audio between VP and SF Pro. (aside from an occasional pilot error).
To All: To answer walter-i – Vegas was set up that way when I looked. The problem is not getting from Vegas to SF, but how to get back.
SF has such a steep learning curve that I wounder if I need it. I can do most everything I need to my audio is Vegas.
As long as I'm just rambling, I am excited about the new Zynaptiq Unveil VE that came with my new upgrade. I haven't use it yet, but it looks as if it could be very useful. If anyone has used it, I'm wondering if it would be used in the processing line-up before the 'Multi-Band Dynamics' or after?
Thanks you all for commenting, it's so useful. These are the things that are just not in manuals. Dave P.S. Just noticed rraud - Example, I have a sound tract, I can right click and choose, 'Open in SF or 'Copy to SF' & it's done. After I mess with it how do I get it back to Vegas?
There is product 'macrogenerator' that works with a number of NLE's including vegas that will do exactly what you are asking for. There are good tutorials although they I have only sampled those aimed at edius. There is free trial & the author is most helpful.
There's no need to use a macro to do this. Simply save the Wave file in SoundForge which then will automatically update the audio event in the Vegas Pro timeline. It is recommended to start from Vegas Pro with using to send a copy of the file to Sound Forge because Sound Forge audio editing is destructive.
Still not sure what you mean. "… the audio plays very slooooly in SF?" Do you mean "slowly"? Is your audio slowed down when it is opened in Sound Forge?
Walter-i - Checked and the rate is zero. diverG - Something is wrong bit time. I decided to try again and it opened in SF with a slow play again, but now the timeline in Vegas plays the same way - slowly! I can just dump this and go back to my saved file, but I panicked for a second. I think I'll have to try and get SF support on this.
Walter - I final thought, The rate slider is sitting a little left of the center marker. When I move it to the right until the sound is near normal, it reads 1.85. As soon as I let go it snaps back to left of center which read zero, but again that's 20% or so left of center. I just notice when I hold the cursor at the center marker it says 'Normal rate 1.00'. Strange going on.
Double clicking the Rate/Scrub bottom arrow (under the slider) resets it to default (the same in SF.
When 'Open copy in audio editor' is selected, VP creates a new take / file of the event over the top of the selected one and opens it in SF for editing. The original and subsequent takes can be toggled with "T" on your keyboard.
OTOH, when 'Open in audio editor' is chosen, it opens the entire event's file directly in SF for 'destructive' editing. A new take is not created.
Rechecked this morning. Can open in SF directly from VP timeline. SF plays timeline correctly, can be modified & saved back to timeline. Using HappyOtterScripts (HOS) it is possible to save the modified SF file to a new track giving the user a choice. Seems a better option than directlty from within VP.
What is more interesting is that whilst SF will no longer open Adobe Audition(3) it can be opened via HOS and functions perfectly. Well done HOS.
"Seems a better option than directlty from within VP."
Different, yes. Better, don't know. Note that the updated audio file from Sound Forge which then appears in Vegas Pro is added as "Take". Which means you simply need to press the "T" key to toggle between your source audio and the one edited in Sound Forge.
