Debugmode Frameserver 3.0 released

satish_debugmode schrieb am 24.06.2019 um 01:20 Uhr

Hi all,

I just released version 3.0 of Debugmode Frameserver. This is a native 64-bit build tested with Vegas Pro 16.0 and Premiere Pro CC as well. You can get it from https://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/

Some of you may remember me as the developer behind Frameserver many years ago. After a long hiatus, I'm back to working on it regularly now, so feel free to send in your feature requests & bug reports ( ideally on github: https://github.com/satishsampath/frame-server ).

Many thanks to the Magix team for sending me a serial key for testing/developing on the latest versions of Vegas!

- Satish

I don't see any mention of being able to serve video above 8 bits per component, is it possible to do 10-12 bit frameserves with this version? We need that to enable HDR output from Vegas to a third party encoder like x264. Wwaag was talking about this being a limitation of the previous version as a reason why he couldn't include HDR support into Happy Otter Scripts' Render +.

@wwaag already asked for it :) I wanted to get the native 64 bit support out asap, so will look at 10-bit and other features in the next few weeks.

I've always wanted to personally thank the mind behind this work. Thank you for your fantastic work.

For users of HappyOtterScripts, a word of caution! If you download and install the latest version, Render+ and other rendering apps will no longer work. The current version of HOS already incorporates 64bit decoding. I will release a new build upon my return from my month long road trip which incorporates the new build by Satish. In my tests, it works well and will enable simplification of the HOS rendering process with some speed increases.

AKA the HappyOtter at https://tools4vegas.com/. System 1: Intel i7-8700k with HD 630 graphics plus an Nvidia RTX4070 graphics card. System 2: Intel i7-3770k with HD 4000 graphics plus an AMD RX550 graphics card. System 3: Laptop. Dell Inspiron Plus 16. Intel i7-11800H, Intel Graphics. Current cameras include Panasonic FZ2500, GoPro Hero11 and Hero8 Black plus a myriad of smartPhone, pocket cameras, video cameras and film cameras going back to the original Nikon S.

Hi Satish
Thank you for releasing a new version for Debugmode FrameServer.
I created an in-depth tutorial (12 months ago) for how to export from Vegas to Handbrake and have just updated the instructions to work with version 3.0.
https://www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/sony-vegas-pro/590-render-video-from-vegas-pro-to-handbrake

Are you able to fix the audio bug in Frameserver ?
I am talking about the need to add precisely 1 second of blank space to the end of the Vegas timeline, before you begin frameserving to Handbrake. It appears from my testing today, that adding 1 second is still required.

Regards
Derek

Hi Derek,

I haven't fixed that bug yet. If you can file it as an issue in the github link above, that'd be great. I'll work on it.

@satish_debugmode

Can Frameserver be modified to accept Wave64 files from Vegas? I'm running into problems with the legacy Wave file size limitation. Hope you are doing well.

satish_debugmode schrieb am 18.01.2020 um 22:53 Uhr

Sure, I can give it a try. Would you mind filing it as an issue in github? https://github.com/satishsampath/frame-server/issues/ . It would be really helpful if you can outline a typical workflow of how it should work if frameserver supports wave64.

Musicvid schrieb am 18.01.2020 um 23:07 Uhr

Certainly.
