Black Screen Problem Vegas Pro 14

I finished a project using iPhone footage with no problems at all. I renamed the original .MOV videos to .WMV because usually there is preview lag when i use the regular .MOV files. When I attempted to render the videos, the preview was black, and when the project was done rendering, the first couple of seconds were fine, but then the rest of the project was black, but I can still hear the audio. I tried opening another project and copying and pasting, but the same thing happened when I rendered. I set the GPU acceleration of video processing off, and it still didn't work. Please help I've been trying to look for a solution for the past 3 hours.

It is Vegas Pro 14 64 Bit, Windows 10 OS. I have a i5-4690k 4.5 ghz , and a gtx 1060 3gb GPU.

Don’t tell Vegas the wrapper is something it’s not.

Do this.

Is your source footage 1920x1080@29.97 fps? If it is, create a new project, and convert 1-2 of your source camera files to .MXF XDCAM. Then create another new project that uses the xdcam source media and see if that converts better to whatever format you are trying to render to.

If you are going to YouTube, export to xdcam and upload the result.

For your existing project, you can save as a new copy of your project, then do a replace media selecting the xdcam source footage. Then render as stated above.

This is all in the sticky in at the top of the forum, regarding iPhone footage.

The ONLY thing you can sometimes rename MOV to is MP4. Those are what are called "Compatible" wrappers, by Apple design.

MOV is Apple's registered format. WMV is Windows registered format. The two are not compatible, by design.
