Can I continue to use my substandard graphics card with v15?

I've been using Sony VEGAS Pro 9, and want to upgrade to Magix VEGAS Pro 15.

It turns out I have an "embarssingly substandard" display adapter - an ASUS GT430 with "only 96 CUDA cores" or so I was told recently (blush). Who knew? I shoot 720p for YouTube, and the only problem I have is that I've never been able to display motion video when the Preview Window is on my second monitor. - I see only a still image. But it works fine as long as I put the Preview Window on my primary monitor. Any thoughts on that?

Back to my QUESTION: The VP15 Minimum Requirements mention just 3 or 4 graphics cards, each of which is far superior to my card.  If I upgrade to Magix VEGAS Pro 15, will I likely be able to continue using my current graphics card (for the same low-rez video) or will I be forced to buy one of the cards suggested by Magix?

In other words:
1. Do I need a specialized display adapter, or can I use my existing adapter?
2. Is VP15 simply optimized to provide hardware speed advantages with those particular cards?
3. Will my card work, but not provide speed advantages?

I MUCH APPRECIATE A QUICK REPLY. I hope to buy VP15 ON SALE before close-of-business on November 30, Thursday.

Thanks

You can use any graphics card you wish. Hardware acceleration is not required in order to use Vegas, and that is the only meaningful way they are connected.

To be sure you could download the trial to quickly check. Then if you are happy purchase while the sale is still on. You can then activate your trial with the activation key to make it a 'proper' version. There should be no need to download again except for the extras which don't get included in the trial.

THANKS to all three of you, and thanks especially for such quick replies! I hoped I would be able to use my "very basic" display card and am very glad (relieved) to know that's possible.

Take a system image of your current boot disk. If you decide not to upgrade, restore the image and forget it ever happened. I use a free backup software option.

Thanks a TON for the Reality Check(s).

I downloaded the v15 Edit trial version and it worked perfectly. Even better than in v9. I can view motion video in the Preview Window when that window is located on my Monitor2. Too good. I went ahead and bought the Upgrade with NewBlueFX ColorFast2 for the sale price of $149. WooHoo.

john_dennis: I created a Restore Point and exported/backed up my entire Registry. After uninstalling the trial version and deleting Magix and Vegas folders I reverted to the Restore Point. Didn't need the registry backup.

Installed the paid version of Magix VEGAS Pro 15 Edit and the NewBlueFX application. All appears to be working properly.

Thanks, fellas.
