can't get upscaling to work in Vegas Pro 20

I just bought and installed Vegas Pro 20, and I also installed the Deep Learning Models (version 20.2.0.0), but If I try to run 'upscaling' on my old DV material I get the message that the media cannot be upscaled because the upscaling model is not present on my system and that I have to download it.

Since I posted this in the wrong thread ( https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-19-vegas-ai-bundle--134896/ ) I got some useful replies, but I still can't get it to work.

What I've noticed is that I can't use the slider:

What I fear now is that this upscaling fx is AGAIN something that is only available for 365 subscription........

And nowhere a tutorial or instructional video to be found on how the upscaling works. That doesn't help either.

1, meaningful is, you do UHD project. Your eye can't observe really, the render result proofs.

2, Upscale into even, must stay direct behind Pan/Crop for a sec. then go ahead Pan/Crop, if failed move it back and again forth; jump over doesn't work!

my next test was with the suggestions form Dexcon and Musicvid in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-upscale-is-great--135698/.

first I changed the properties as Dexcon suggested. Then I used the settings from Musicvid (light unsharp mask, upscale 1,5 (smooth) on media level. Then I rendered from Magix AVC/AACmp4 with the 'internet HD 1080p 25fps' template. Material used was a 2 minute fragment of a DVD. I took care to set the project on 'progressive scan'

The result was disappointing. Maybe a tiny difference due to the unsharp mask.

For now I will wait till the Intel drivers are sorted. Then I will try again and keep you informed about possible progress.

about your posts on the Intel drivers:
Yesterday we changed the settings in the BIOS and installed the latest drivers from Intel, but after a series of tests we came tot the conclusion that there wasn't a noticeable difference after upscaling. I didn't have the strange results as before, but no improvement whatsoever in the quality.

I think I have to accept that my expectations were too high.

I just purchased Vegas Pro 20. I installed the program and when I tried to use the colorization feature, a message said I needed to download the AI Bundle for Vegas 20. It gave this website, but I could not find the bundle to download. Where can I find it? Thank you.

Which version of VP20 did you buy? When you first install it, you will see Vegas software and AI Bundle check marked. If not, check mark the AI bundle if you run the installer again that you got when you purchased the software.

I just answered this question and then the site crashed and my answer did not post. So I will try again. I purchased Vegas 20 Edit. I made sure I installed both the program and the file called Deep Learning. I ended up reinstalling Vegas 20 and the second install did install colorization. I then took a video file that was 1 hour and 9 minutes and rendered it as a Video for Windows NTSC DV. The file took about 20 hours to render. The percentage of the rendering appeared on the screen. After the file had completely rendered and red 100% and no additional frames were being added to the rendered file, I played the finished rendered colorized file. It was in color, but only rendered with a picture and sound for 2 minutes. The entire 1 hour and 9 minute rendered file was there but the rest of it was just black. The extension of this file was just .avi

However in the same folder was another file with the same file name, but this file had an extension of avi.sfk

It looks like Vegas never completely finished rendering my file. I have watched other program render and while they are rendering, a second file will be in the same folder, but with a strange extension. Then when the file is completely rendered, this second file goes away. I think this is what is happening in Vegas 20. The file never finishes rendering.

I tired to render the file again and I get the same results. Any idea what is happening. Thanks.
