Cannot render any videos in any format, always gets stuck at 82%

taranbasi18 wrote on 4/11/2018, 2:47 PM

The title pretty much sums up everything, the rendering of a video freezes at 82% doesn't go any further and freezes the entire application like in the picture:

When it gets stuck, all the other applications fail to open and then my entire computer screen shuts off with the operating system still running. Literally it turns off my entire computer screen and I cannot get back on the desktop till I force shutdown from the power button and then I lose all the editing work I do.

Disabling GPU acceleration did nothing, and nothing so far has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

"and then I lose all the editing work I do."

Strike Control + S from time to time. Especially before you start a render.

Try to render the last 20% of your timeline to determine if some media or fX in that range is at fault.

SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!!! There is some video that is different or odd at 82%. Try to determine which video is the culprit by following John Dennis' suggestion of rendering from that point on. (20% from the end)

It's all just one video I used, I noticed it stops at the shake effect that I downloaded using sapphire add ons.

I'm sure sapphire add ons is the problem but how do I fix it so it doesn't stop the rendering?

Search the Forum for Sapphire. Lots of reported issues with Magix Vegas.

@taranbasi18

Just curious, is this gameplay capture? Can be problematic in some specific formats - try forum search. Also, is this the "shake" effect from Sapphire render unit included in Vegas suite or somewhere else?

Also try holding shift when clicking on preferences, clicking the internal tab, doing a search for "so4" , set the second line to "false". That helped my render freezes.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

It gets stuck at this point and this was where I added one of the sapphire plugins (the shake effect) but even after removing it and restarting my PC the rendering still freezes where the red circle is:

It's always here where it keeps freezing and I've tried everything said in this forum, nothing worked.

(There are no results for 'so4' on Sony Vegas 14)

Did you save and re-open your project before trying the second render without the plugin?

Please post your MediaInfo properties for the event at the stall point.

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

If the stuck event is a PNG image file. Replace it with a PNG that has been re-encoded from the original in Photoshop or Irfanview at the same resolution, save your new Vegas project, open it, and try the render again..

Worked once for me.

Kinvermark wrote on 4/12/2018, 11:30 PM

So if you delete the event in the red circle the render will complete?

( By the way: It's Magix Vegas 14 not Sony. Just FYI. Maybe don't worry about so4 quite yet)

Even after deleting the event (image) in the red circle saving the change and reopening the project, the render still fails at the exact same point.

The png file was something I got from someone else, after I installed the sapphire tools that's when the render issue happened but after deleting it and reinstalling it the rendering completed fine despite missing the effects I wanted. But I seriously need one of the plugins from sapphire from my project and I don't know any other software that offers the same thing. I redownloaded the jpg file (sorry for being misleading about the event being png) and reinserted it in the project but still no luck, still fails at the same point.

The media info tool won't show anything else apart from this:

(I'm not sure if I've done this right)

Did you try re-encoding your JPG to PNG in Irfanview?

taranbasi18 wrote on 4/15/2018, 2:13 PM

Yes, I tried converting the image to a png but the rendering still freezes at the same point. (I used FLVT converter online to do this).

I also tried rendering the project in other different templtes but they all do the exact same thing.

Sometimes the most efficient thing to do is copy the whole timeline and paste into a fresh project. Then add your effects back in one at a time until you hit a snag.
