Driver Power State Failure for VEGAS Pro 18

Mareks-Kuzmins wrote on 6/21/2021, 3:35 PM

I have an issue when working on VEGAS Pro 18. I've been using different effects and clips when editing and suddenly, it shows me a blue error message saying "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". I have used every solution to fix this problem. Scanning for viruses, removing applications, uninstalling and installing, demonstrating with command prompts and changing RAMS and disabling GPUs.

The hardware setup is as follows:

  • ACER - Aspire Z 24
  • Windows 10/ACPI x64
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630
  • NVIDIA GeForce MX150
  • System Firmware R01-B0
  • Intel Core i7-8700T CPU @ 2.40GHz

What would you recommend to fix this problem?

In Preferences, turn off "Gpu Acceleration of Video Processing" and see if that helps.

Intel graphics 630 barely supports it, and I leave mine turned off.

It is turned off.

From my search:

What causes a driver power state failure?

Driver Power State Failure errors are usually caused by a computer or device driver going into sleep mode while you're still using the device. Windows would send a wake signal to the device once it is needed and if the device doesn't respond in time or at all, Windows flags a Driver Power State Failure error. Mar 28, 2017

Check to see that sleep and hibernate are disabled. Don't allow HD to power down.

The crash occurred as I was editing.

Contact the company who built the computer? Doesn't seem like a Vegas issue.

Are you using an external drive?

I am updating as we speak. How many restarts does it require?
