I've just updated a couple of scripts Points At Markers and Quantize To Frames.

Points At Markers now has a UI and can add add envelope points at markers as before, but now conversely can add markers at envelope points. There is also an option to Quantize to Frames. Both audio and video tracks envelopes are scanned with an option to include event envelopes (E.g. velocity envelopes).

Quantize To Frames has now added envelope points as an option.

Both may be downloaded in the HappyOtterScripts Free Tools library https://tools4vegas.com/library/

Just uploaded a new version of RQM FFmpeg which should now work OK. Thanks to @fifonik for diagnosing the issue.

Still no joy. I ran a Powershell command to unblock all the files in Downloads before moving them. I set the User Environment PATH to ffmpeg. Tried two versions of Zeranow ffmpeg. I ran ffmpeg RQM as shown. No vmaf, and a blank log file was written.

Again, I've overlooked something. But what?

As I said before, the safest is just to install the latest version of HOS (1.0.3.4) which includes the Zeranoe 4.3 release build which "works". There is no need to even activate a license. Then make sure that HOS is higher in the list than any versions of FFmpeg you may have installed. I would then "start over" and create a folder where you unzip the 3 RQM files. They must be in the same folder.I would also suggest choosing a relatively "simple" folder path name to begin with which turned out to be the main issue with the previous version.

@Musicvid Where do you have model files (vmaf_v0.6.1.pkl & vmaf_v0.6.1.pkl.model)? They must be aside of the RenderQualityMetricsFFmpeg.exe. They could not be found if you place them aside of ffmpeg.exe (in PATH)

Yes, they are all in the same folder. And it's working fine with HOS installed.

I was actually trying to help out a guy run it as a standalone, but it's not terribly important that I do so. And it will sort itself out, as usual. I'm only beginning to play with vmaf on my end.

Meanwhile, I'm going to begin testing your app. The screenshots look interesting.

Mr. Waag:

You have a marvelous and particular genius to understand and FILL, elegantly, the GAPS of this, currently, "pretty good" program. (you make it "very good"). I can't understand why you and people like John Rofrano and Douglass Spotted Eagle (and certainly others) haven't been/aren't brought in to really make this program GO!!! Vegas has the best interface, (yet underdeveloped) and scripting is boffo, (probably under appreciated).

Anyway, to me, the program is an under-performing genius creation (Thanks Gary, for sure, much props to you, but c'mon, put this beast into overdrive, you drive it like a go cart).

Just uploaded a couple of new tools to the Free Tools library, Playlist Import and Snapshot Tools.

Playlist Import is a script that enables the import of audio playlists to Vegas. Formats supported include m3u and pls in addition to a textfile of filepaths. This enables the import of audio files in any order. Here's a screengrab of the UI.

Snapshot Tools consists of three scripts designed for creating and saving images of the timeline at the position of the cursor. For example, the script SnapshotToTrack, saves the image to a subfolder of the Project folder, adds the image to project media in a Bin titled “SnapshotsToTrack” and adds the image as a new event to a new track titled “SnapshotsToTrack”.

The script Vegas Render Quality has now been updated to support the latest versions of the DebugMode FrameServer in addition to the previous version.

There are now options for setting:

  • Where images files are to be saved
  • Selection of image format including bmp, jpg, png, and tiff.
  • Selection of quality for jpeg images
  • Duration of the image on the timeline  for use in the SnapshotToTrack tool
  • Option to bypass Fx on the video output bus
  • Option to add images to the media pool for the SnapshotSave tool

It's an old one with someone just recently posting another request. It seemed such a simple thing to do, that it was worth the time. Hopefully, some will find it of use to them in their workflow. That's the beauty of scripting in Vegas, especially for repetitive tasks.

You know what would be awesome wwaag, a script to zoom in and out of the Preview Window, lol

Since the Vegas team can't do it, only you can.....😆😁

With the author's permission, I have recompiled DaviTools VideoWall for use in Magix versions of Vegas Pro. This is a very useful dockable extension for easily designing and creating video walls that was originally written for use with earlier Sony versions. Here are a couple screen grabs of the UI.

I've added it to the Happy Otter Free Tools library. Here is a direct link where it can be downloaded. https://tools4vegas.com/davitools-videowall-2/

Just added a new tool--AutoColorGrading. It consists of 4 scripts that are designed to quickly apply auto settings such as Color Levels or Color Balance to multiple timeline events.  Since the Vegas scripting API does not provide access to the controls within the new Color Grading dialog,  the approach taken is to have separate scripts for selecting the next event on the timeline and then simulating the  required mouse click of the Auto Color control.  Once these scripts are assigned keyboard shortcuts, a 2-click operation becomes possible from the keyboard or a 1-click operation possible for those users having a Contour Shuttle or a programmable mouse that supports macro creation.

Also included is a script, ResetColorGrading,  that enables the user to reset the Color Grading Fx to “Default” for selected or all events.  The user may also remove or add the Color Grading Fx to timeline events.  The GUI for this script is shown below.

Here is a demo.

And finally, a direct link to the AutoColorGrading page.https://tools4vegas.com/auto-color-grading/
