Thanks. But when I apply that FX I get the error: This plug-in required OpenCl to function.

Is there any way with Vegas 17 to make a 320 x 240 video look better?

Not by upscaling.

steve-a wrote on 1/9/2020, 10:04 PM

Then how?

Musicvid wrote on 1/9/2020, 11:42 PM

After twenty years of editing, I can honestly say I don't know, except to find the source, which obviously isn't 320x240.

try free Davinci Resolve 16's superscale . I used vegas smart upscale, not see much difference, Resolve superscale shows improvement. Superscale on 2x for 640 output, can adjust sharpness and noise reduction. best used for high quality source

I found a 320x240 clip from an old Ricoh Caplio G3. The before and after pictures show what can be achieved with Vegas Smart Upscale if the source material is poor, like here.

Smart Upscale must be used as a media FX or before pan / crop to work properly.

Can't we just use the super-duper software that all the cop shows use?

It's easy - one-click to zoom-in, one click to enhance.

Done.

Note to self (everyone else please look away -- the note that follows is a reminder for mine eyes only): Figure out a clever, kick-booty signature that suggests I'm completely aware of how to properly and exhaustively party on and that I, in fact, engage in said act on a frequent and spontaneous basis. All joking aside, listing my computer's properties is a futile endeavor. I edit multimedia in a local television station newsroom that has Vegas Pro installed on several machines with widely varied specs. We began editing non-linearly with Pinnacle Studio Version 8. That didn't last long before we upgraded to Vegas Video Version 4, then to Vegas Pro 10.
