Lossless Intermediate HEVC and H264 where ?

KaraUSA wrote on 9/23/2019, 4:41 PM

I saw on your forum, that some have the Lossless Intermediate in HEVC and H264, but I do not have that, how do I have to have it, I made the new update. In my list I just Magix Intermediate export MOV, but I have not Lossless Intermediate HEVC, should I do another manipulation to activate it and then see it in the list? Help me, thank you

@KaraUSA Its a “Preset” selection within the Magix Nvenc template, just select Magix avc or Magix hevc, then select Nvenc, then select the Preset list, its in that list.

Ah, but I was talking in the intermediate magix. Because in this section, it's not written lossless intermediate ...

@KaraUSA I understand that this is it, its just not located where you would expect to find it.

Ok thank you. I hope for the new update with the new codecs for the export video.

I made lossless default, and the video file is 0 bytes, weird

@KaraUSA See my posts in the general thread for this update here ... https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-17-update-1-build-321-general-discussion--117239/

I suspect that the reason there isn’t more discussion about this is that like yourself some people don’t even know where its located, same with me when VP17 was released.

Is it rendering for you with UHD Nvenc in the Magix HEVC codec.
On my laptop it renders and then the result is a file of 0 MB, that won't play.
With the AVC codec it gives a file that will open in Vegas , but only play in VLC not elswhere.

You solved the problem in uhd?

Alala even for an update, they can not even finalize things, there will never be a stable update!

@KaraUSA @j-v This is my post on testing before this update, long story short, when I got anything better than a zero byte file the file had artefacts in it. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vp-17-new-lossless-intermediate-for-avc-and-hevc-zero-byte-uhd-rende--116546/#ca725138

So far with this update I can only get a zero byte file. Haven’t tested hevc yet, don’t see the point, its broken, DOA in the first release, no better now.

I'm curious to see if anyone else can get it to work. I have to assume that whatever systems the developers used that it did work for them?

I tried several different settings in the first release, without success. This time I also changed Dynamic Ram to zero, I reduced the threads setting to 16 and I switched the Nvidia driver, from the latest Studio driver to the latest Gaming driver, still no luck, so its not for lack of trying.

HEVC and H264 are Interframe, long GOP delivery solutions.

They are, by definition, lossy.

All-I is possible, but not practical, and defeat their purpose.

They are not good candidates for intermediates, owing to generational loss.

Try one of these software intermediates:
