Could you show us a screenshot of your video render settings?

You should be able to render to Magic YUV 4:2:0, YUV 4:2:2, YUV 4:4:4, and RGB and maybe others. Have you tried these?

Yes i try all, but don't work in export. I don't understand. I export in AVI (not MOV)

I tried everything in MagicYUV export avi, without success, I do not understand

Does it work if you export 8 bit?

KaraUSA wrote on 5/3/2019, 12:40 PM

Yes it's work in 8 bit, why don't work in 10 bit, 12 bit and 14 bit ? It's strange

Musicvid wrote on 5/3/2019, 12:49 PM

No, it's just not natively supported.

If you are not working with 10 bit source, there is no point.

if you are working with 10 bit source, ffmpeg using the Happy Otter Script trial may give you 10 bit throughput with Magic YUV. Search.

4.4.4.4 don't work in export. Not normal....

Marco. wrote on 5/3/2019, 12:59 PM

Both alpha as well as more than 8 bit won't be supported in this case in Vegas Pro. The formats which allow 10 bit (or even more) and alpha channel are very limited in Vegas Pro. The AVI types supporting 10 in Vegas Pro are uncompressed, Sony YUV, CineForm. That's it.

I doubt HOS would help here as it depends on DebugMode Frameserver for export (which I think will export uncompressed 8 bit AVI only).

How to fix this problem? nothing ?

Marco. wrote on 5/3/2019, 1:41 PM

Either use MagicYUV RGB 8 bit or use a codec which 10 or 12 bit property will be maintained by Vegas Pro.

It seems you are requiring output formats not needed by any known consumer input formats. What is your source? SDI RAW?

This will get Alpha working for you.

A discussion and round of tests Laurence and I got into in 2011 led us to conclude that for intermediates, 8-bit 444 and 10 bit 422 are perceptually identical, although for slightly different reasons.

When employing a 10 bit intermediate, the added layer of dither must also be taken into consideration. It's important wrt noise and banding, and x264 was the clear winner in both areas back then.
