when I load my .mov file into the timeline, it only loads as an audio track. I can watch the file in other players, but don't get a video track when loading it into Vegas
using Vegas Pro 16. I have edited in this program for years. Got a new camera and the files it creates are .mov and won't load properly.

You would need to find a MJPEG (not mpg) MOV codec. Do they by chance open with the deprecated quicktime library enabled in Vegas?
TBH, the easiest thing to do is to run it through Handbrake.
