New feature suggestion

Suggestion: email or sms notification when render is finished. That would be great!

I sometimes render huge projects from conferences. Usually I do batch rendering, having multiple video conferences on the same timeline, each one marked as a region. Rendering takes between 5 and 24 hours depending on how many hours filmning is being rendered. So I leave the PC in my office overnight or into the next day rendering. Most often Vegas never crashes during long renders. My question is always if the render complete? Time to go there and view results? Or should I continue with my other work? or did Vegas crash? If there was a notification that "Render is complete" automatically sent to me by email that would make my life easier.

Or even "Vegas crashed", "Rendering froze" or whatever would be helpful.

@Martin L ... that is an excellent suggestion. So many things are 'connected' these days, so why not an NLE?

Exactly! That should be a piece of cake to implement, right? :)

... and a lot of the 'skeleton' of such a process is already there. VP already links and 'talks' to Magix My Account, and My Account has our email address coded, and has - or can have coded - mobile/cell phone numbers, but would require correct international codes coded as well. But sms might attract a send cost from Magix's telco whereas email shouldn't ... and modern smart phones can usually alert to the receipt of a new email.

Good! Or it could sent the message through WhatsApp. That's free.

Excellent suggestion, and I'd like Vegas to start my dishwasher too. J!

Actually Vegasaur’s Render Assistant can already send push notifications when render is finished.

My only feature request: a fully working NLE supporting my AMD card... one can always dream.

Been testing the latest build (321)...looks promising. No more AMD support than v14 unfortunately. Personally, I don't expect any big changes in this regard before Vegas 16.

@Martin L Vegasaur well worth a look for this and many other workflow improvements.

@OldSmoke In case you want to take a look at build 321 - Customer service will likely give you a new trial period if you ask them (they gave me one.)

OldSmoke wrote on 3/29/2018, 4:13 PM

@Kinvermark I know I could ask for it but it doesn’t make sense if AMD cards aren’t supported, I must well stay on my very very stable SVP13 and all the plugins that work with it.

first i say what who needs that ,then i get your point ,agreed.but only 1% of user will use that i guess

If you want to check on the progress of your stationary render machine, you could use Windows Remote Desktop. I use it every day on my LAN, but you . I don’t.

matthias-krutz wrote on 3/31/2018, 3:54 AM

I use TightVNC to check the status of my render machine. With Remote Ripple I can also access from an android device. Thus, I can the render machine also remotely control via wireless LAN. I do not find an email notification so comfortable. With Vegasaur I could already use the e-mail notification, but I have decided for this solution.

I use vegasaur and "pushover" android app. It works perfectly.
