ProRes video imports with only 1 audio track?

It's your source, which has two stereo tracks embedded, one at 39 Kbps, one at 19 Kbps, both of which are a small fraction of bitrates we would normally expect. Solo the higher one if that's all you have. MediaInfo doesn't include the x264 encoding parameters, suggesting it imay be already third generation; you can't unbake that cake.

Also, you video is variable frame rate, which is generally dismal to work with. Unless you are able to go back and recreate from source, you probably won't be able to overcome all the problems your source brought to the table.

Both audio tracks are recorded to 320kbps, or at least they are set up to in OBS, if it does some variable bitrate i don't know, it's very possible, i'll test some tomorrow

The video is just a sample one that i recorded, i have a metric ton of other videos like it, if i can't ProRes proxy them that's fine as long as we figure how to do it in the future.

If it's the source as you say, what do i need to correct to fix those problems & make ProRes import correctly with 2 audio tracks into VEGAS?

I need both to work, otherwise, ProRes is useless as i do alot of moving audio around & away from their original position & would like to be able to switch between the source & proxy without having to set the audio tracks up manually due to my metric ton of independent video clips in my project....😣

Your problem is happening somewhere between OBS and your mp4 Vegas source.

It is not necessary to render ProRes or x264 Intermediates prior to Vegas. Import your capture files directly and do all the work in Vegas.

Your problem is happening somewhere between OBS and your mp4 Vegas source.

It is not necessary to render ProRes or x264 Intermediates prior to Vegas. Import your capture files directly and do all the work in Vegas.

I do use my highres "original" files as primary & import them first, however my projects often looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/4kdLk4d.png

And that's before adding text & other editing, it becomes highly laggy & scrubbing in the timeline is a pain, that's why i'm trying to get ProRes to work, in the limited testing i could do with that project with 1 audio track it scrubbed & worked very well.

So i actually found the reason why it's running variable framerate & weird audio bitrate: i record normally to MKV to prevent file corruption on crashes or anything unforeseen, then i would remux it with a FFMPEG batch program into .mp4 , i checked now and these are the file properties, didn't do this earlier as i was under the false understanding that FFMPEG copied everything but the format over ( -vcodec copy, -acodec copy parameters)

This did not change the ProRes when i made one from the latter mp4 file, i didn't expect it to but i tested in VEGAS anyway & it has the same issue with 1 audio track where there should be 2
So i've made the ProRes file with these FFMPEG parameters

-map 0:v -map 0:a -c:v prores -profile:v 0 -r 60 -c:a copy  -b:a 320k

That basically locks framerate to constant 60fps, aswell as audio bitrate to 320kbps, however here i found something interesting; audio #2 is not locked to 320 and is in variable, could this be the root of my problem?

Everything i have is stereo or at least should be, the main issue i'm trying to figure out though is why VEGAS only sees 1 of the tracks when importing ProRes "version" of the file, the source stereo 2x tracks works perfectly 😕

I've now also gotten a ProRes file with both audio tracks on constant 320kbps to work, no change VEGAS still only opens 1 of the audio tracks 😣

Open the source clips in Vegas and render each source stereo track that works perfectly to a 48 kHz / 16 bit WAV file. Drag those wav files into you project with the converted video, check sync and mute or delete the audio files that you have failed so miserably to rewrap in FFMPEG.

Not an option, i have 100+ video clips that i need 2x audio tracks for, rendering each and every one of them and then hoping grouping them works when swapping from source to intermediate is not an endeavor i will be trying

It's not the rewrap that is broken, it has both audio tracks as i need them, but only 1 is shown in VEGAS when coupled with a ProRes codec for the video, this is what i'm trying to figure out: how to make both tracks work in VEGAS, if there is anything i can do at all
