Rendered video shows further than preview

Okeedoku wrote on 12/5/2017, 11:17 AM

I'm trying to edit some old home videos that I recently captured onto my PC. However, when I've trimmed the video and rendered it in Vegas Pro 14, the newly-rendered video plays past what I've trimmed.

To explain it better:

In the preview I've trimmed the video to be 57:06 in length. After rendering, the newly-rendered video is still 57:06 in length, but by around 56:12 what I'd trimmed to has finished and the last 54 seconds are what should have been trimmed off.

Could this be a frame rate issue? If so, is there a way to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Your loop region or an orphan event extends past the end of your program. Fix it there, and you can also turn off "Render Loop Region Only" in the Render dialog.

In addition to Musicvid's advice, you might also look at the event at 56.12 to see if you stretched it which has the effect of repeating part of the event. It's indicated by a little notch.

Tried it but I still have the same issue, it's hard to describe so I'll try a picture that should show it better than I can explain Throughout the video it slowly gets more out of sync, the audio is fine but it's like the video is playing slightly faster than it should.

The video's are going to be burned onto a DVD once I've finished editing them, if that makes any difference. I've to go to work now so I'll try any solutions posted when I get home.

Please update Vegas Pro 14 to the current build 270 first.

Okeedoku wrote on 12/6/2017, 9:55 AM

Ok, I've updated to the build 270(I've updated the general info in my post above) and tried most of the help from the thread that was linked (the quality is fine, it's just the sync issue), still to no luck.

EDIT: Fixed, had to use handbrake to give the videos a stable frame rate.
