Rendering failure (beginner)

Hey, I apologise in advance for the lack of proper terminology I have no idea what I am talking about haha.

I purchased movie studio 15.0 to help edit some clips for a video I am making for school, it all was going really well adding the iphone clips and editing out the weird stalls in conversation etc!

But I can't complete the render process to finish the movie and I am not sure what to do. The rendering gets stuck at 81% every time (I tried like 4 times) and the predicted time to finish counts down to 0 but nothing ever happens. I thought maybe it had finished and was just putting all the pieces together so I left it at 81% overnight and in 12 hours still didn't go up any more %. It only takes 20 minutes or so to get to 81%.

The video is 25 minutes long and it only has iphone video clips and a 5 second intro title.

When it's rendering my CPU jumps to 100% the whole time, and the memory/disk often goes quite high too. When I googled about this everywhere says to turn off GPU accelerator in the preferences tab but when I open it I can't find anything that mentions GPU accelerator (I think I just have the most basic package not any of the professional vegas pro things)

My laptop is kind of old so maybe that is what's wrong? This school project is getting more and more expensive by the day haha I hope I don't need to buy a new computer.

I am copying this information from the task manager I don't really know what it means.

My CPU is Interl(R) Core(TM) i7 -4800MQ CPU @ 2.70GHz

In memory it says 8.0 GB DDR3 with 4.4GB available 1600 MHz speed

And I am using windows 8.1

I am sorry if this is lacking the right information, if I need to tell you more could you let me know what I need to tell you/where I can find the information?

That was the guide i'd seen online before.

There is no option for GPU acceleration on movie studio 15.0 so I can't turn that off

There is no option for Dynamic ram preview max so I cant change that either.

My laptop sits on a cooling stand and I had the fans running, I don't think it's overheating.

Before I start rendering it says the file is about 1.5GB and I have over 250GB of space left.

I restarted movie studio/my laptop and that didn't change anything.

It does keep freezing at the same spot of 81% However the clip is of two people talking and the scene looks the same the whole way through, I don't really know where during the movie it is getting stuck so I don't know how I would remove that part.

No error message or crash message comes up, it just sits at 81%, the preview window on the right that slowly moves through the video freezes and the CPU drops back down to normal levels like it's finished. I can't press cancel or click anything else in the client, I have to end task with task manager to get out of it.

I checked for windows updates and there were none, and I updated my graphics driver but that didn't fix the problem.

If it stalls at the same place, eliminate the event, and try something else.

Or post the necessary file source properties using MediaInfo.
