This is disgusting and hope one day we'll stop seeing these videos.

@Dexcon

Oh, my generation was just as bad, but we at least were presented with some good role models, not just those seeking to legitimize and sanction corruption and abuse as a way of life.

Thanks @vkmast ... As per Dr Zen, I am in the same country (Australia). But the Victorian State Government has totally and completely stuffed it up. For months, all people returning to Victoria have been compelled to quarantine at tax payers expense in city hotels (as occurs in the other States and Territories), but instead of those quarantine hotels being controlled by police and defence forces as occurred in other AU States, the Victorian Govt and Dept of Health employed poorly trained private security guards without almost any PPE and no authority or interest in the job. It was so lax that reportedly some of the security guards engaged in sexual relations with some in quarantine, The security guards quickly got CV-19 and spread it into the wider community. And when announcing the new lock down last Tuesday, the Premier disingenuously blamed the State's population for getting complacent and causing the spread.

For months now, Australia has been more like a bunch of nation States rather than a contiguous country - more like the Schengen zone - and I am not in anyway meaning to criticise Schengen.

I know this is way off topic, but I really need to vent. The incompetence of the Victorian State Govt is breathtaking. It nearly leaves me in tears.

They will never be controlled; they are Schmoos.

Appreciate the Al Capp reference. A victim of Cancel Culture before it was even named. How I miss Daisy Mae Scragg!

I would very much like to see an improvement in our software copy protection as well. It is something that is on our radar for the future.

I do not like such things as well, but I really do not want Magix will improve VP protection. It is already causing issues in my legit VP17. It starts much slower than previous versions (compare start time VP13 vs VP15). I cannot run the program when I'm on corporate VPN (quite often in these days with COVID stuff going around). And it is just was working with no issues 5 minutes ago before I connected to VPN.

The same thing for games I'm buying. Trying to get it from GOG instead of Steam. They just started faster.

"Magix VegasPro 19 now with Denuvo copy protection"

That's one way of making Vegas use all my cpu with the minor drawback that my ssd will die twice as quickly. What ever they choose just as long as it doesn't chew through cpu or constantly write to the drive

"They" will always find ways to trick the thing and are not the customers at all . Once "They" can't trick it anymore , they jump to the entire adobe suite ( nr 1 in most wanted ) or whatever . The real customers , at the same time , will become the punished ones ( connect to internet each month like norton ( what happens if the company disappears ? ) , sudden de-activated can't re-activate issues , whilst in the middle of a project( there is plenty such kind of issues here already now ) , program starts reacting even slower due to checking legal or not ... etc.. etc...

Adobe once explained they really don't mind that much since once those kids have worked for a year or even longer for free and a percentage of them becomes serious and gets really into " it " , they will for sure start buying it for many many more years and won't jump to competitors anymore . I kind of agree , don't punish the paying clients for a handful of kids with smartphones or alike camera's , who will never buy it anyway .

Adobe already has a strong user base with income every month. So yes, they can "afford" to let some pirate the software. And yes, maybe .... some might buy it. I don't think so for the "Sony" Vegas pirates out there. Even with the Humble Bundle. They want it for free, and that's it.

I do agree that paying customers should not have to suffer draconian activation/interconnect hoops to jump through. I have SpectraLayers and that was a pain to activate.

I don't know if there is an easy solution. I certainly would not want people pirating software I spent my time developing. I did object oriented programming decades ago and certainly don't want to see my work distributed for free.
